Maternal Child Health (MCH) Program
The MCH program provides care through an onsite clinic located in the Public Health Nursing building in Peridot. Our main focus is to provide well-child services to children. We see children, birth to 18 years of age, and offer Well-Child visits and immunizations through the VFC (Vaccine for Children program). We do all types of physicals including sports, head start, school entrance and dental clearances for procedures. We do pregnancy tests, STD counseling and treatment, and provide information on all types of birth control. We hold immunization clinics to help promote health and wellness. We participate in community events bringing education to the community, promoting health and well-being. We work closely with all programs; PHN , CHR, WIC, and the different entities at the San Carlos Apache healthcare.
Well-Child Visits
Well-Child Visits are essential for many reasons including:
- Allow for the opportunity to screen for any medical problems
- Tracking growth and developmental milestones
- Discussing any concerns about your child’s health
- Getting scheduled vaccinations to prevent illnesses like measles, whooping cough, and other preventable diseases
- A good time to educate patients and family on health issues pertaining to the child
